We celebrated our return from foggy ol' San Francisco (photos coming soon!) with a perfect Minnesota afternoon in Wisconsin.
Our official mission was to celebrate the end of the season with the Eener's team as first-year members in their Community Supported Agriculture box farm. Our real mission was to stock up on pumpkins and gourds, feed the barnyard goats, and play fetch with their dog.
Adam quite enjoyed feeding ALL the goats, much to the detriment of jealous children everywhere.
TJ still has not learned to fetch, so we made friends with a new dog instead. His name is Maynerd.
I am assuming our eggs came from this chicken - unless that is a rooster, in which case I may need to refresh my early-childhood education.
I got what I came for...plus four more. We will be eating pumpkins for weeks!
Before the comments start rolling in, I'd like to clarify that we did not bring Pickles to the farm. This is her barn cat doppelganger. Pickles, for the record, came from the mean streets of St. Paul, where pumpkins do not safely rest.
We had a great season with the CSA - our weekly deliveries were always delicious, nutritious and accidentally decorative. If we don't get around to putting in a garden next year (and judging from past experience, 2010 is probably a bust), we'll be back next year!
